A. Manette Ansay is the author of two novels, Vinegar Hill (Viking, 1994) and Sister (William Morrow, 1996) as well as a collection of short fiction, Read This and Tell Me What It Says (University of Massachusetts, 1995). The title story won the 1995 Nelson Algren Prize and the collection was awarded the Associated Writing Programs Prize that same year. Ansay lives in Nashville, Tennessee where she is Assistant Professor of English at Vanderbilt University.
